If Arrested In Riverside Bail Bonds Can Help To Secure A Quick Release

Being arrested must be one of the most stressful things any person can have the misfortune of experiencing. It is not only hardened criminals that are arrested. Many ordinary people find themselves in trouble. They may have had one drink too many, or they may have ignored a court order. These and many other circumstances can lead to an arrest. Luckily, for those living in Riverside bail bonds are relatively easy to arrange.

The criminal justice system is overloaded to the point where it often takes months, even years, for a case to be heard. All accused people cannot be kept imprisoned for such lengths of time. The system therefore makes provision for some arrested people to be released until their cases are heard. A hearing to decide of an arrested person will be released is held as soon as possible after an arrest.

In order to be released, the court must be satisfied that he does not pose any risk to himself or the community. The court must also be satisfied that the accused will not interfere with the case against him. In most cases, the accused is required to pay a cash sum to secure release. The purpose of this payment is to make sure that the accused will appear in court.

Many accused are unable to meet the amount of the cash deposit required by the court. In such cases the services of a bondman can be extremely useful. A bondman specializes in advancing cash loans to people that must pay a deposit in court. The normally require their clients to sign a contract and to pledge all their assets as collateral. The client will also have to pay a transaction fee of approximately one tenth of the loan amount.

Failing to keep to the conditions of release imposed by the court is one of the most foolhardy things any accused can do. He will be placed into custody again where he will stay until the case is heard. He will also forfeit the deposit paid for the first release. If the bondman cannot be paid, the assets of the accused may be forfeit and auctioned to cover the loan.

The system has many critics. They argue that criminals are released simply to return to their lives of crime. In most cases, this is simply not true. For one thing, there are simply not enough facilities to keep all arrested people incarcerated. In most cases accused people pose no threat to society. They made mistakes and they will eventually have to answer for them.

There are other reasons why it is in the interest of society to free accused people. Many families will end up in dire straits if the bread winner is kept in custody. Accused people that have families and jobs are not very likely to jeopardize their futures. Keeping them in custody will actually cause much more harm than good.

Thousands of arrests are made every year. Some of these are in error and many cases never get to the courts. That is why those arrested are considered for release. It is neither fair nor possible to keep every person that is arrested in custody for prolonged periods.
