In the United States, approximately 455,000 undocumented immigrants of underage have been allowed to work and live there. During the first thirteen months of deferred action is when this was passed but only for childhood arrivals. This information was from homeland security department. Efforts of creating a path for the promising young individuals did not seem fruitful. Deferred action for dreamers therefore involved the procedure and process of acceptance of these young persons by the state who happened to have been brought while still of tender age. Dreamers was the term the accepted individuals were referred to as.
It was president Obama who sometime back came up with the decision to halt the deportation of undocumented young persons. He then urged the congress to approve the immigration bill from the senate. There is no threat posed to these illegal immigrants who happened to be brought in still as kids as per the program. If they meet the criteria, they qualify to apply for relief from being deported.
President Obama further insisted that this young folk were Americans in their hearts as well as minds. This program via the acting administration has brought and instilled hope to thousands of young, ambitious and vibrant persons who now live normal lives with no fear of deportation from the United States. Now, each and every day through this program, great numbers of people have become American citizens.
The young people are allowed to obtain a driving license once they are in possession of deferred action status and work. The state took part in helping individuals who wished to join college as this was a glorious opening to them. The authorization is meant to last two years but in case an individual committed a crime, the status would be taken from them. The pressure carried by these young persons on deportation was relieved and they could now live peacefully.
It is unfortunate that the dream act of 2010 did not go through because of the senate vote. Eight immigration bill, that was passed by the senate, was for the purpose of helping the dreamers. However, republican leaders opposed it and refused to take the legislation. The chairman of judiciary committee Bob Goodlatte, and the majority leader Eric Cantor, are trying their best to secure legal status for dreamers although it is not clear if it includes the citizenship path.
Once the threat of deportation was no more to individuals brought in the country as kids, then it was easy to focus and pay attention on enforcement efforts towards criminals who happen to endanger the communities. This would give students who have the will of pursuing their education to do so in peace, that was according to President Obama.
The steps taken were not the ultimate solution to deportation, but once the congress passes the bipartisan and the commonsense immigration bill then it would give the dreamers a chance to contribute to the growth of the country, helping live up to the history of the nation laws as well as nation of immigrants.
This, in conclusion, is an important step forward to economic growth, however, it should be noted that one cannot travel once they request for deferred action. Future immigration consequences will be as a result of not following the desired steps in departing the United States of America.
